Massive Clearout In Devon

Time to spend some time with Mum & Dad sorting out things now they have decided to move to a smaller house that is easier to look after and get around (it will also be slightly closer to the rest of the family we hope).  So a week in Devon it was, with Catherine and Ben, Karl, Gareth and Liz at various points.  The aim to clear and sort out as much of as possible ready for the move.

What isn't shown in the photographs below is the amazing work inside the house,

bulletThe sewing room is on the way to being usable again (Liz & Mum)
bulletThe corridor to the bedrooms now only has two book shelves on it and all the books fit on the shelves without stacking (Liz, Catherine & Mum)
bulletThe guest bedroom has been rearranged and now has up lighters (Gareth & Karl)
bulletThe Office has one less desk and you can now walk round the billiard table (Dad & Chris)
bulletThe Barn is tidy and a lot less full (Karl, Gareth, Dad & Chris)
bulletThe Dresser is now tidier (Mum, Dad & Liz)
bulletOne less freezer (Liz, Mum and Karl)
bulletand lots more.....

Over the week we filled 4 skips, the caravan was towed away, the trailer is booked to be removed and Christine has enough things to keep the hospice shop open for months!.  Oh and it was my 43rd birthday so there was a bit of food and drink involved, actually thanks to Mum there was a lot of food involved throughout the week (Karl there are still some scones left!).  The week was unbelievably tiring especially for Mum & Dad as hard decisions were / are needed to work out what to keep and what to get rid of, but it will hopefully be to their benefit when the time comes to do the move.  Three estate agents gave their views on selling and it looks likely that the house will be on the market early in the new year, so if you know anyone who wants a lovely house in a quiet location with 5 bedrooms, etc get in touch!

Here are some pictures from Mum showing the changes
